The flagship of the Rail Gunners, LLP shipping operations and, covertly, of Blue Squadron’s pirate operations, the Fool’s Gold is a rebuilt Y-8 mining ship that has been modified into a gunship-class vessel.
The Fool’s Gold maintains the basic layout and outward appearance of a stock Y-8, faithfully restored by Rail Magnor and Firbacca. Within, however, it has undergone significant upgrades and modifications. The following chart compares a stock Y-8 with the Fool’s Gold.
Detailed interior holopics of the Fool’s Gold can be found on the “Y-8 Pirate Ship” decoration gallery.

The trapezoidal bridge section is mounted atop a vaguely L-shaped main hull. Starting from the aft of the bridge section, the Fool’s Gold utilizes what is typically storage or ore analysis space as a ready room and observation lounge. The room is dominated by a large Thumpa wood conference table and chairs, at the far end of which sits a semi-circular leather couch, dejarik table, and small bar. The entire room is afforded a spectacular view out and over the aft of the ship from 3-meter tall transparisteel viewports comprising most of the aft wall.
Forward of the ready room and lounge, between it and the bridge proper, is the operations room including ship-wide systems monitoring and control, reactor control, and communications stations. Continuing through operations a large hatch opens on the port side of the aft wall of the bridge. The bridge itself is breathtaking with a ceiling near four meters from the deck and massive transparisteel viewports all around.
